An energetic results-driven and motivated journalist with a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism, Ms. Acharya started her career as a television journalist 20 years ago and worked with numerous media institutions in different capacities ranging from a reporter/producer/host to an editor. Throughout her journalism career, she reported and disseminated stories extensively on public health, gender and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, which she continues today as the Editor-in-Chief of Nepal’s only woman led bilingual multimedia news channel/portal –Health TV Online (the holding of OUTREACH MEDIA Pvt. Ltd). Aside from this, she led the Health Journalist Forum-the national network of journalists reporting on health and medical affairs. She is one of the founder members for the APCAT Media Alliance.

A renowned public event host/emcee, she has moderated/emceed high level public events graced by the presence of the Head of States/Governments, ministers, diplomats and visiting officials.  Also, she has covered stories of the voiceless women, children and elderly people, traumatic patients suffering and struggling for access to treatment both from the urban and rural sections across the country.  Travelled to more than 60 districts of the country to facilitate training sessions for journalists, she shares with her fellow journalists across the country her learning from more than three dozen international seminars/workshops and training on media and health, internet freedom and safety of journalists, women in media, gender sensitivity hosted by UN agencies, governments of various countries and organizations on different occasions.
